Prof. Bobby Prasad MBBS FRCP FRCPI FACP FASGE

Prof. Bobby Prasad is a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist and Visiting Professor at the University of West London. He is now in full-time private practice and his NHS base was previously at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London where he was Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He also draws further on his considerable experience as a Consultant supporting London’s Royal Marsden and Royal Brompton Hospitals.
Bobby aspires to clinical excellence and strongly believes in adopting a kind, friendly and holistic approach to patient care. He sees patients from all walks of life and has a national and international referral practice. Bobby is also happy to provide a second opinion service.
Specialities
Bobby has expertise in all aspects of endoscopy, gastroenterology and general hepatology. These include digestive wellness, irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal pain and dyspepsia, gastrointestinal cancer screening, pancreas and biliary disease, obesity, inflammatory bowel disease, gastro-oesophageal reflux, gastrointestinal bleeding, jaundice, abnormal liver function and general hepatology/liver disease.
He is also a Faculty Member on the National Endoscopy Training Program at St George’s Hospital, London and regularly teaches advanced endoscopic techniques and colonoscopy to Consultants and trainees in the UK and internationally.

Qualifications and Accreditations
Bobby trained at Guy’s Hospital, London and Boston, USA. Whilst in the States he completed prestigious Advanced Endoscopy Fellowships in Endoscopic Ultrasound at Yale University, and in Therapeutic Endoscopy and ERCP in Charleston with Professors Peter Cotton and Rob Hawes.
At Yale, he was on Faculty as an Attending (Consultant) Physician and was the recipient of a Yale-New Haven Hospital All Star Award. He has also been awarded the American College of Gastroenterology National Fellows’ Prize, and an Astra-Zeneca Gastroenterology Travelling Scholarship. Bobby was recently awarded the prestigious Imperial College Teaching Excellence Award.
Bobby is fully accredited on the UK General Medical Council’s Specialist Register for Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine. He has also achieved Board Certification in Internal Medicine in the USA and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, the American College of Physicians and is Fellow of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He was a Representative on the International Committee of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and a regular reviewer for the journals GI Endoscopy, the Annals of Internal Medicine and AP&T.
