Bowel Problems

The following symptoms or signs of bowel problems, if unexplained or persistent should be investigated:

  • abdominal pain or discomfort related to meals
  • a change in bowel habit
  • a change in type of bowel motion (stool) – including change in consistency (diarrhoea or constipation) or colour (black motions or bleeding)
  • pain in the back passage
  • unexplained weight loss
